Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0ultra N 3390 BA can be thinned with esters, ketones and aromatic\u00a0hydrocarbons such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methoxypropylacetate,acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene,xylene, solvent naphtha\u00ae\u00a0100 and mixtures thereof. Generally speaking,it has good compatibility with the solvents listed. However, the solutions<\/h3>\n

formed must be tested for their storage stability. Only PU grade solvents\u00a0should be used (max. 0.05 % water, absence of reactive groups such as\u00a0hydroxyl or amino groups). Aliphatic hydrocarbons are unsuitable as solvents.<\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00aeultra N 3390 BA should not be thinned to below a solids content of\u00a040 %. Prolonged storage of a solution with a lower binder content may result\u00a0in turbidity and sedimentation.<\/h3>\n

Compatibility<\/b><\/strong>\uff1a<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Generally speaking, Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0ultra \u00a0N \u00a03390 \u00a0BA can be mixed with\u00a0the following products: aliphatic polyisocyanates such as Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0N \u00a0100, N 75, N 3200, N 3400, ultra N 3600 and Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0Z 4470;aromatic polyisocyanates such as Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0L\/ultra L, HL and IL\/ultra IL;polyester polyols such as Desmophen\u00ae\u00a0670 and polyacrylates. However, the\u00a0compatibility of the combinations used should always betested.<\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0ultra N 3390 BA is not compatible with branched polyester polyols\u00a0such as Desmophen\u00ae\u00a0651 or polyether polyols such as Desmophen\u00ae\u00a01380 BT.<\/h3>\n

Properties \/ Applications\uff1a<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0ultra \u00a0N \u00a03390 \u00a0BA is used primarily as the hardener component\u00a0for lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings withhigh resistance\u00a0to chemicals and weathering,very good gloss retention and outstanding\u00a0mechanical properties. Preferred co-reactants are polyacrylate or polyester\u00a0polyols.<\/h3>\n

The main applications for systems based on Desmodur\u00ae\u00a0ultra \u00a0N \u00a03390 \u00a0BA\u00a0are air- andforce-drying coatings for automotive OEM, automotive refinishing,transportation, industrial finishing and plastics.<\/h3>\n

General information: The product is sensitive to moisture. Storage at higher\u00a0temperatures will result in increase of color and viscosity.<\/h3>\n

Covestro represents that, for a period of nine months following the day\u00a0of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents, the product\u00a0will meet the specifications orvalues set forth in section \u201cspecifications or\u00a0characteristic data\u201d above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is\u00a0stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced\u00a0under section \u201cstorage\u201d above and is otherwise handled appropriately.<\/h3>\n

The lapse of the nine months period does not necessarily mean that the\u00a0product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to\u00a0using said product, Covestrorecommends to test such a product if it still\u00a0meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any\u00a0representation regarding the product after the lapse of thenine months period\u00a0and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing\u00a0to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the nine months\u00a0period.<\/h3>\n

This product data sheet is only valid in conjunction with the latest edition of the\u00a0corresponding Safety Data Sheet. The product is used mainly as a hardener in coating materials or\u00a0adhesives. The handling of coating materials or adhesives containing reactive\u00a0polyisocyanates and residual monomeric HDI requires appropriate protective\u00a0measures referred to in the safety data sheet. These products may therefore\u00a0be used only in industrial or trade applications. They are not suitable for use\u00a0in homeworker (DIY) applications.<\/h3>\n

STORAGE: It is recommended to store in a dry and cool area with proper ventilation.<\/h3>\n

Packaging:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

200KG\/drum Please fasten the packaging cover as soon as possible after original packaging to prevent the mixing of other substances such as moisture and other substances that may affect the performance of the product. Do not inhale dust, avoid skin and mucous membrane contact. Smoking, eating and drinking are prohibited in the workplace. After work, shower and change clothes. Store contaminated clothes separately and reuse them after washing. Maintain good hygiene practices.<\/h3>\n
